NH Property Tax Rates

Below are the 2020 New Hampshire property tax rates. Most NH cities and towns update their property tax rates in the fall and issue two bills (sometimes four) a year to property owners. The first bill that goes out in the spring is half of last year’s annual taxes. The second bill (mailed out in November) reflects the updated property tax rate for that year. Property tax rates are shown as the amount of tax due per $1,000 of assessed value. While the assessed value of a property has some correlation to market value, it is not uncommon to see large discrepancies, especially when market value has gone up or down quickly, as is the case in recent years.
