Epsom is a town located in central New Hampshire in the Merrimack Valley region of the state. It is situated in the Eastern part of Merrimack County and encompasses a total area of 34.4 square miles, only .2 of which is water. As of the 2010 United States Census, Epsom was home to 4,566 people.

Epsom was officially incorporated as a town in 1727, gleaning its name from the town in England of the same name. In its early years, Epsom was primarily a milling town and was home to two gristmills and two sawmills. Over time, the town has been called home by a number of notable people, including: Noah Martin, former governor of New Hampshire; inventor John Dolbeer; U.S. federal judge Walter Henry Sanborn; Major Andrew McClary, an officer at the Battle of Bunker Hill; and Civil War brigadier general John B. Sanborn.

Less than 1 percent of Epsom's total area is comprised of water. The town includes parts of the Suncook River and is located within the Merrimack River watershed. A number of mountains dot the area, including Nats Mountain, McCoy Mountain and Fort Mountain, where elevation reaches 1,413 feet above sea level ? the highest point in the town.

Epsom is governed by an elected Board of Selectmen. The town boasts a full-time police department, a full-time fire department and municipal emergency medical services. Top employers in the area include Epsom Health Limited Partnership, McDonald's, Wendy's, Beaumac Co. Inc., Newstress International Inc., Dunkin' Donuts, M & M Ford, Care Pharmacy of Epsom, Evans Express Mart and TD Bank. Children in the area attend Epsom Central School for grades kindergarten through eighth. For grades nine through 12, they attend schools in School Administrative Unit #53, located in nearby Pembroke.
